Join RFS and leaders from the forestry and insurance industries in San Francisco on the Historic Klamath for an insightful panel discussion in the afternoon to discuss how forestry innovations are effectively reducing wildfire risk across California. Hosted by Bay Area Council, this event is part of their “Climate on the Klamath” event happening during SF Climate Week.

Biomass Utilization Symposium
The 2024 SMEDD Biomass Utilization Symposium will bring together industry, academia, Tribes, government and community-based organizations to explore the opportunities and challenges of implementing forest biomass utilization projects for fire safety, forest health, renewable energy, and wood products, and supporting the appropriate growth of sustainable, stewardship-based, rural economic development.
Site tours are being offered on May 2, with the symposium on May 3.

Resilient Forest Series - SOLD OUT
SONOMA COUNTY, CA: Please join us, Gold Ridge Resource Conservation District, Forestree Collective, Sonoma County Ag Preservation + Open Space District, Green Valley Farm + Mill, guest speakers and organizations for this series highlighting forest and watershed health practices, management planning, hands-on stewardship, tool demonstrations, and more.
Each series date will engage participants in stewardship strategies for improving forest and watershed health with presentations by expert speakers. After the morning session, participants will take a walking tour of the land to see Green Valley Creek and forest health practices up close. The tour will end at the West Mill of Green Valley Farm + Mill where participants will see regional infrastructure being implemented to support ongoing forest stewardship as well as getting to know the Listos Tool Trailer resource of Fire Safe Sonoma.
