Community Forest Landowner & Land Steward Workshop

Friday, April 25th at 10:00-12:30pm

Location: Black Mountain Preserve, PPI, 23125 Fort Ross Road, Cazadero, CA 95421

This workshop will highlight financial assistance, grant opportunities, and resources for private landowners, small farms, and land stewards to enhance forest and climate health, reduce vegetative fuel loads, and build wildfire resilience. 

In addition to the following instructors, we have added: Temra Costa, Director, Regenerative Forest Solutions, to share RFS's plan to implement a community-scale wood products campus to serve the community and will garner feedback on potential solutions to support landowners in treating their land.

Instructors include Sloane Goldfader, Forester for USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service who will be presenting an overview of NRCS assistance, Jason Wells and Genevieve Tarino from the Sonoma RCD who will take a deep dive into the North Bay Forest Improvement Program (NBFIP) which private landowners can apply for to implement beneficial forest improvements on their land, and Roberta MacIntyre from Fire Safe Sonoma who will highlight her organization's resources in regards to home hardening, defensible space, emergency preparation, and much more!
